Everything is as promised. Converts stereo mic to mic input of phone. That is TRS to TRRS conversion. It is one way. Don't try reverse, it is not probably wired that way. I use this arrangement to take Mixer OUT audio into phone for recording concerts. I organize and conduct classical concerts using high end phone as camera. Why 4 stars?: It is delicate. Very thin cable which can be easily damaged. Could have been solid, rugged construction just like any audio AUX cables you see everyday. How come Rode missed this point ?
