Viltrox AF 20mm F2.8 Lens
The Viltrox AF 20 mm f/2.8 is an ultra-wide-angle autofocus prime lens available for full-frame Sony E (FE) and Nikon Z mounts. Built to be very compact and lightweight, it weighs just around 157 g, making it a superb option for travel, vlogging, low-light shooting, and landscape photography. It uses a quiet STM (stepper) motor for smooth and nearly silent autofocus, supporting Eye-AF on compatible bodies for portrait or video work.
Optically, the lens has 10 elements in 8 groups, including 2 ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses, 1 high-refractive-index lens, and 2 aspherical lenses. It also features Viltrox’s HD Nano multi-layer coating to reduce ghosting and flare, and has water-resistant & anti-fouling treatment on the front element.
The lens has an internal focusing mechanism, meaning the physical length doesn’t change when focusing. It also has electronic aperture control, which is useful for video. Minimum focus distance is 0.19 m (19 cm), which is very good for a wide-angle lens. The maximum magnification is about 0.17×. The angle of view is 91.6°, offering a broad field of view for landscapes or architectural shots. In terms of build, it uses a hardened aluminium alloy mount, making it durable yet lightweight. There is also a USB-C port on the lens for firmware updates.
